Yabatech to benefit from N500m French fund

Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) is set to benefit from a N500 million fund launched by the French government to support Nigerian universities in tackling plastic pollution. The fund, part of the French Embassy's Waste Management in Nigerian Campuses Project, aims to empower young researchers and institutions with innovative solutions.

Yabatech's PLASTOGAS Hub project will focus on studying plastic waste disposal patterns, creating optimized collection systems, and promoting recycling. "These projects are scientific and result-oriented, showing that plastic pollution can be tackled even with limited resources,” Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy, Thierry Valentin said.
