Residents of Onigbongbo LCDA cry out, demand more from Executive Chairman Olakanle

Residents of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have called on Executive Chairman Oladotun Olakanle to do more for the people, claiming his impact is not being felt in the communities under his jurisdiction.

One of the residents, Mr. Festus Ebenezer, challenged Olakanle to emulated his predecessor, Babatunde Oke and prioritise the welfare of residents in the LCDA.

Olakanle was the former Vice Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA before being sworn-in in 2020 by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu after the demise of the past Chairman, Oke, who died on August 12, 2020, following complications from COVID-19. 

In March 2021, the proceedings at the LCDA council chamber showed that four of the six members present voted in favour of the impeachment of Olakanle as Executive Chairman, over allegations of gross financial misappropriation, while two voted against it.
