Police arrest Ifa priest, Osun priestess, chief, cleric linked to organ harvesting in Lagos
The police command in Lagos has arrested a gang of suspected ritualists who specialise in killing people and harvesting body parts for sale across Nigeria.
Among the arrested suspects were an Osun priestess, a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Islamic cleric, and a trado-medicine practitioner.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Friday, May 3, explained that the suspects who operate in one of the extreme divisions of Lagos were arrested through intelligence reports from the public.
SP Hundeyin disclosed that the gang is led by one 33-year-old man, Ademola Akinlosotu, who confessed that he was exhuming corpses from cemeteries and selling their parts to ritualists but later graduated to killing and selling human parts to customers on demand.
Akinlosotu confessed that he moved from killing people to harvesting parts because his clients requested fresh parts rather than dead body parts.
