Computerised birth, death registration now available in 141 Lagos centers

The National Population Commission (NPC) has launched its Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (E-CRVS) system at 141 centers across Lagos State. 

The e-CRVS, designed to digitize civil documentation, now enables streamlined self-service for processes like birth registration, birth attestation, adoption, marriage and divorce notifications, as well as migration and death registration.

NPC’s Federal Commissioner for Lagos, Mrs. Saidat Oladunjoye, shared during a press conference, the new system’s impact, emphasizing how the electronic platform simplifies registration and boosts accessibility for residents of Lagos state. 

“The introduction of the electronic system has simplified the process of registration and further made the process a self-service system,” she said.

This modernization of civil registration goes in line with broader national efforts to improve citizens' quality of life, focusing on transparency and data-driven decision-making.
