Motorcycle union condemns attack on police

A motorcycle operators union has condemned the attack on a police team by irate okada drivers at WEMCO junction, Mobil road in Agege last Saturday.

The attack reportedly led to the death of a police officer. MOUN said the attackers were not registered members of the union. “It is for this reason MOUN, in its current engagement with the Lagos State Government, is emphasizing collaboration and self-regulation through unionization,” the union said in a statement. “MOUN believes that once the Lagos State Government finalizes the ongoing MOUN’s certification for operation in Lagos State, MOUN will be strengthened to comprehensively register its members in Lagos State.”
