LP faces risk of losing its only two seats to APC in Lagos Assembly

With both LP seats now hanging in the balance, the APC is presenting a formidable challenge –it may secure all the 40 seats in the 10th Assembly.

The Labour Party (LP) is on the verge of losing both of its seats to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lagos State House of Assembly, following the removal of its representatives by the Lagos State Election Petitions Tribunal last month.

Foluke Osafile and David Doherty, LP representatives from Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 and 2 respectively, now face the risk of being unseated from the 10th Lagos State House of Assembly. While there's room for appeal, the party's future in the assembly remains uncertain.

David Doherty's Tribunal case

On September 22, the Lagos State Election Tribunal sacked David Doherty, the LP lawmaker representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
