LASTMA arrests ‘one chance’ armed robbery gang in Abule-Egba
Witnesses noticed a man being forcibly pushed out of the robbers' vehicle after a robbery. The witnesses initiated a pursuit, prompting a reckless escape attempt by the criminals.
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have apprehended a notorious 'one chance' armed robbery gang at Jubilee Bridge in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos.
The armed robbers, identified as a trio, had been causing havoc in the Abule-Egba community and its surroundings. They were captured along with their operational vehicle, a painted 'T4' commercial bus (APP 406 YE), at the U-turn area of Abule-Egba. Unfortunately, one member of the gang managed to escape with a P.O.S machine before the police could intervene.
According to Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, the public played a crucial role in apprehending the criminals.
