LASEPA vows to improve air quality in Lagos

The Lagos State Environmental Monitoring Research Protection Agency on Tuesday said it would continue to work towards improved air quality in the state.

The agency made the promise on its X account while announcing the air quality index (AQI) for Tuesday.

“While the air quality may not be optimal, be rest assured that LASEPA is working tirelessly to enhance the state’s air quality,” LASEPA said.

The index suggested the air quality in most parts of the state fell below the standards required by the World Health Organization.

Ojo was considered the only area with a good air quality, while parts of Ikeja, Lekki and Eti-Osa were considered moderate.

Meanwhile, the air quality in Bariga on Tuesday morning was considered hazardous. Agege and Apapa were considered ‘very unhealthy’.

The LASEPA data wasased on measurements validated by AirQo, a Ugandan based company which tracks air quality across African cities.
