Lagos State considering its own airline, Sanwo-Olu reveals

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed that the state is considering establishing an airline for passenger operations as it gears up to build its own airport in Lekki.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this at the Lagos West Senatorial District People’s Town Hall Meeting held at Balmoral Convention Centre on Sheraton Link Road, Ikeja.

He confirmed that the idea has been in progress for months, with the state finalising the financing model.

Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Sanwo-Olu also confirmed this in a tweet on Friday.

“Yea this question came up yesterday at the Lagos West People’s Town Hall Meeting. A question was asked about Lagos State having a State owned airline like ‘Ibom Air’ to complement the upcoming Airport Lagos State is planning to build at the Ibeju-Lekki/Epe axis.
