Lagos secures investment deals for two waste conversion projects at COP28

Lagos State government has confirmed that it’s secured financing deals for two waste conversion projects at the ongoing 28th session of the Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the announcement at an event held at the Nigeria Pavilion at COP28.

The governor said the two projects, which were pitched by Lagos State at the global climate summit, “have attracted significant investment interest”.

The first project is the Advanced Garbage Collection and Waste-to-Energy project, which aims to improve waste collection and treatment while reducing reliance on landfills.

The second project is the construction of a new Sewage Treatment Plant, which will utilize cutting-edge technology to convert waste into energy and other valuable products.
