Lagos govt workers celebrate salary correction after six years

After enduring a six-year persistence of erroneous basic salary elements in their pay, workers of the Lagos State Government have celebrated the long-overdue correction.

The correction, impacting basic, rent, and transport allowances, is now reflected in the March 2024 salaries, marking a significant milestone in fair compensation for diligent workforce.

This rectification was done by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu after deliberations between the Staff Union and the State Government, has brought much-needed relief to employees. 

Chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council, Lagos State, Comrade Olusegun Balogun, expressed gratitude to Sanwo-Olu for prioritising workers’ welfare, emphasising the administration's dedication to fairness and equity in the Public Service.
