Lagos govt begins investigation into Indian school for alleged discrimination against Nigerians

The Lagos State Government has launched an investigation into the activities of an Indian language school accused of discriminating against Nigerians, in Ilupeju, Lagos.
The school was accused of only admitting children of Indian nationals and refusing Nigerian children admission.

According to the New Telegraph, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, announced this while speaking during a ministerial briefing at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, marking the first anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term.
Alli-Balogun stressed that the state has a zero-tolerance policy for denying any child admission, citing the Child Rights Act domesticated in Lagos.
“Enforcing regulations and closing non-compliant schools aims to establish a safe and inclusive learning environment," affirmed the commissioner.
