The Lagos State and Niger State governments have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to battle food scarcity and high inflation on food in Lagos.

The MoU tagged  "Produce for Lagos Initiative" is meant to pave the way for a sustainable agriculture future in both Lagos State and Niger State.

“I signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Governor @HonBago, paving the way for a sustainable agricultural future, where food security and productivity thrives between Lagos State and Niger State. Together, we are setting a new standard for state collaboration,” Babajide Sanwoolu revealed in a statement via X.

“The essence of the #ProduceForLagos initiative lies in its strategic partnership, aiming to harness Niger State's vast agricultural potential and Lagos State’s organized market. From paddy to tubers and grains, this initiative guarantees a consistent supply of essential food items.”
