House intervenes in Model school fee hike

Speaker Obasa assured parents that their concerns are being taken seriously and directed the House Committee on Education, led by Hon. Mosunmola Sangodara, to engage relevant stakeholders and report back within a week.

The Lagos House of Assembly is stepping in to address the recent increase in boarding fees at model colleges from N35,000 to N100,000. The increase has sparked protests from parents.

Speaker Mudashiru Obasa assured parents that their concerns are being taken seriously and directed the House Committee on Education, led by Hon. Mosunmola Sangodara, to engage relevant stakeholders and report back within a week.

The House will await the committee’s findings before deciding on next steps regarding the fee hike. Meanwhile, parents will continue to pay the original fee of N35,000 until further review.
