General Hospital Somolu welcomes two baby girls, first deliveries in 2024

The General Hospital Somolu has celebrated the birth of its first deliveries in 2024.
According to the hospital's head of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Sherif Toyin Salako, who led the delivery team, the first baby arrived at 12:15am on January 1, and was delivered by Mrs. Mosunmola Ojebunmi. The baby weighted 3kg at birth.
The second baby was delivered by spontaneous vaginal delivery by Mrs. Adewunmi Kudirat Lawal at 3:30am, weighing 2.3kg.
Dr Salako added that the mothers and babies are in good condition.
Meanwhile, the hospital's Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Babalola Dokun Ogungbemile has attributed the success story to the quality healthcare system operated by the Somulu facility.
“The General Hospital Somolu has the wherewithal to care for natal, postnatal and different health issues affecting mother and child," he said in a statement obtained by Ikeja Record.
