Elevator investigation
Probe: The Lagos state government has launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of Dr. Vwaere Diaso after outrage on social media. Dr Diaso, who was about to complete her medical housemanship and was on her way to become a full-fledged medical doctor, died from injuries she survived in an elevator crash inside the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island on Tuesday.
Steps taken: According to a government spokesperson, a panel of representatives from the state health services and medical associations have been set up to probe the issue. The elevator installer has also been handed to the police. The panel was given 48 hours to conclude its investigation and submit a report of initial findings on Saturday.
