Fix Lagos Airport conveyor belts, passengers cry out

Chaos ensued on Sunday as the conveyor belts malfunctioned, impacting passengers and airport workers at the terminal.

Passengers and travelers have expressed frustration over frequent conveyor belt breakdowns at the newly opened Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) terminal in Lagos. 

Chaos ensued on Sunday as the conveyor belts malfunctioned, impacting passengers and airport workers at the terminal.

Sources within the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) revealed to Nairametrics that the management made frantic efforts at resolving the challenge, and as resorted to  loading the bags of the passengers manually. 

The source further alleged that the newly installed conveyor belts face daily breakdowns, occurring approximately 30 minutes each day, particularly during peak periods. 

This disruption is notably affecting early morning flights, especially those from the West Coast and Europe.
