According to the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, the three-month maintenance work on the bridge will not cause any discomfort to motorists. He assured that the bridge will only be partially closed on weekdays between midnight and 4.00 a.m.
However, on Saturdays and Sundays, the bridge will be completely closed to traffic.
The first phase of repair will involve ensuring the structural integrity of the bridge, removing the excess asphalt on the surface, and enhancing the aesthetics of the upper deck components.
