  1. Confusion over minimum wage in Lagos

In a rather interesting twist, there was confusion over the reported increase of the minimum wage in Lagos State by the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Lagos State Government later refuted the reports, noting that the governor was misquoted, but many Lagos await the announcement of the new minimum wage by the Federal Government, which the State has pledged to implement. 

  1. Chess champion back in Lagos

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, celebrated the return of Tunde Onakoya, the renowned chess champion, to Lagos. The chess champion broke the world record for the longest chess marathon in New York City while trying to raise $1 million for underprivileged children’s education in Africa.
