Abiru tennis championship kicks off at Teslim Balogun stadium

The Senator Abiru Mixed Team Table Tennis Championships began on Thursday at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Sports Hall within Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

This landmark event, the first mixed-team table tennis championship in Africa, is held under the guidance of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF).

Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East in the Senate, expressed pride in launching the tournament, highlighting its significance for the region.

"This tournament showcases the incredible talents within our community and neighboring West African countries while promoting the values of teamwork and sportsmanship,” Abiru said.
