The Iyana Oworonshoki-Adeniji Adele bound lane of the Third Mainland Bridge will be officially closed by 11:00 am today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
This partial closure marks the continuation of repairs the Federal Ministry of Works started on the bridge in November 2023. According to a statement by the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, the closure is expected to last 6-7 weeks.
To minimize traffic disruption and ensure seamless movement, the Lagos State Government has outlined the following travel arrangements as follows:
“12:00 am - 12:00 pm: Bridge traffic will be directed mainland-bound towards the Island. Those intending to travel from the Island to the Mainland during this period are advised to use the Eko Bridge.
“12:00 pm - 12:00 am: Bridge traffic will be reversed, allowing for movement from the Island to the Mainland. Mainland-bound commuters should prioritize alternative routes like the Eko Bridge during this time.”
